Non-Cannon ~ Episode 58 - Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)

It's time for our little between-season special. This time we're going to be covering a quartet of John Carpenter movies, making up for the fact that we didn't get to cover one in season six. We wanted to cover as much of his material as possible, so hence this special. For our first one we decided to start with his breakout picture with 1976's Assault on Precinct 13.

This is Carpenter's first studio movie, even though it was extremely low budget. You wouldn't know it from the way the story plays out since it contains ever single John Carpenter hallmark he would become famous for in a mere handful of years. To go into it would be diving into deep spoilers, but if you've seen it then you know how true this is.

Nonetheless, it remains one of his best movies even near 45 years since its release and is essential to anyone who enjoys 1970s or 1980s action movies, influencing much that was to come. There still isn't much like it today.

Episode 91 - Season 06 Wrap-Up

We finally made it!

After over a year in production, and many real world events, Cannon Cruisers season 6 has finally been brought to a close. It's been a long journey, and we are glad to finally move on to the next season and bit of Cannon Films history.

Check out this extra long episode as we wrap it up in style. Can we even remember everything we covered? you'll have to tune in to find out!

As for what's next, we will be taking a two week break before returning with another short special. Pay attention to the episode above if you wish to have a hint as to what it might be. If you've been watching since the beginning then you might have guessed this was coming.

Until then, have a good two weeks. We'll be back before you know it.

Episode 90 - Sinbad of the Seven Seas (1989)

And with this, the upload order should be fixed.

Today we finish out catch-up of Lou Ferrigno Cannon movies, as well as our final film for the season. The same group that brought you the previous two Hercules movies brings you this family adventure that is surprisingly fun to watch, even today. How well does it hold up? As always, that's what the episode above is for!

This is the last film on the list before out usual end of season wrap-up, and what a journey it has been! It's hard to believe it has taken us this long. It took an entire year, but we can finally wrap-up our season we started recording over a year ago! Next week is out usual end of season special, then perhaps we will have a little surprise for you. Nonetheless, thank you for sticking with us this long. It's been a blast, and we can't wait to show you what is next!

Non-Cannon ~ Episode 57 - Romancing the Stone (1984)

Yes, this episode is out of order. This was our screw up. Please excuse us for uploading the wrong episode. It happens.

Nonetheless, please enjoy our Non-Cannon episode of a romantic adventure both the guys and the gals can enjoy. This is the film that put Robert Zemeckis on the map and allowed him the success that was to follow right after this. Possibly one of the best movies of the 1980s, please enjoy our discussion of Romancing the Stone. It doesn't get much better than this.

Episode 89 - Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection (1990)

We're back, and with more Chuck Norris! We've been waiting for another Cannon action flick. This is the long-awaited sequel to the megahit vehicle The Delta Force. After near half a decade it is finally here. Does it stack up?

Check out the episode above for the return to Cannon action! It's about time! I had been waiting to cover this for quite a while.

Episode 88 - Midnight Ride (1990)

Welcome to the new year! We're still not quite done with our season yet, though. We've got a few more Cannon goodies to share with you!

Up next is this late night thriller starring Mark Hamill and Michael Dudikoff from 1990. It's not a very standout film aside from the execution which makes it far more memorable than you might figure. It also has better stunts than a lot of movies like this would normally have. We discuss it in the episode above. Give this one a watch. You might be surprised.

Nonetheless, Cannon's 1990 has been much more interesting than their 1989. Can they keep it up? You'll have to keep listening to Cannon Cruisers to find out! For now it's still quite an interesting company to keep with.

Non-Cannon ~ Episode 56 - The Forbidden Dance (1990)

For the final episode this year we are taking a gander at the other lambada movie of 1990, this being the one released by Golan to compete with his cousin's own movie. There is a bit of a behind the scenes story as to how all this happened, but that is mostly covered in the episode above. As for this movie, it is far more confused and less coherent than Cannon's effort, but definitely worth the discussion.

Somehow Golan and Globus keep surprising, even over a decade since claiming Cannon for themselves. It's been quite a season, but we're finally nearing the end on this overlong season. Keep tuning in as we continue into next year!
